Shines as the Exclusive Beauty Sponsor of Detroit’s HBCU ClassicEvery fall, Ford Field in Detroit hosts the Detroit Football Classic, where two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) face off in a highly anticipated matchup. The game has become a signature HBCU celebration and a symbolic event for the city, honoring Black culture and tradition while showcasing each school’s pride.
This year’s contest featured Central State University and Kentucky State University. AFAM Concept Inc. joined as the exclusive beauty sponsor, bringing a distinctive beauty presence to the festival’s energy and spirit.
AFAM delivered Welcome Bags filled with AFAM Concept’s branded products to both schools’ football teams and student ambassadors, sharing the message: “Represent your school with confidence and beauty.” The ambassadors captured the stadium’s energy and shared the event and products on social media, naturally spreading positive impressions of the brand and the schools. Detroit Lions player Derrick Barnes further amplified the collaboration by announcing AFAM Concept’s exclusive sponsorship on his social media before the event.
At the Classic, the “AFAM Beauty Suite”—set up in the center of the stadium—welcomed a steady flow of visitors. Under the message “Beauty is also part of HBCU culture,” AFAM offered complimentary hairstyling services featuring its trusted brands, Queen Helene and Hawaiian Silky. Many visitors said they were able to experience the quality and legacy of brands cherished across generations.
