A Brand That Delivers Results: Formula 10 Batana Oil

A Brand That Delivers Results:
Formula 10 Batana Oil

Last year and this year, the hottest name in the hair care market was undoubtedly Batana Oil. Its promise to restore Black hair damaged by scalp issues and hair loss with natural ingredients proved highly appealing, earning it the nickname “miracle oil” on social media. Yet as the craze grew, genuine products and imitations became mixed. Consumers became more discerning, now choosing products based on honesty, effectiveness, and safety. Amid this shift, Formula 10 showcased the true power of Batana Oil. We met Meya Campbell, who is building market trust through the purity and efficacy of its ingredients.

Please introduce yourself briefly.

Hello, I’m Meya Campbell. I have worked as a braider for many years and currently serve as the brand representative for Formula 10.

You’ve been in the beauty industry for a long time. What inspired you to develop your own product?

I’ve worked in the beauty industry for nearly 30 years. For me, beauty is not just a job, it is a lifelong passion. My mother was a well-known stylist in our community, and I grew up heavily influenced by her. This may reveal my age a bit (laughs), but back then, braided and weaved hairstyles were popular.

Those styles were not always healthy for the hair, yet my mother was known as a “stylist who grows hair.” She always prioritized care, believing that while style is important, having a healthy scalp and hair as the foundation is even more important. She worked for many years as a Design Essentials stylist* and always used the same trusted products. People often asked me, “What do you use on your hair? It’s so healthy!” I would smile and reply, “I use what my mom uses, and I still do.” That’s when I realized that truly good products stand the test of time. I came to believe that only products made honestly and recommended with confidence can be loved for years, and this became the most important standard when developing products.

What makes Formula 10’s Batana Oil different?

Some Batana oils on the market are barely above legal standards in dilution or only mimic the scent. Formula 10 was created with the goal of delivering genuine Batana Oil from the start. It is pure and supplied in sufficient amounts to be effective. I believe this purity and concentration set Formula 10 apart and allow customers to experience real results.

It must not have been easy to create such a genuine product. What was the biggest challenge during development?

Our goal was to create a product that lets the scalp truly feel a difference, so maintaining quality was our top priority. We worked directly with producers in Honduras, using only 100 percent pure ingredients and sourcing them ethically through fair-trade practices.

Do you have a memorable customer story?

There is one I will never forget. A customer suffering from severe seborrheic dermatitis and traction alopecia was afraid to even wash her hair.

Every oil I try makes my scalp feel like its burning, she said.

Existing oils caused intense heat within minutes, forcing her to rinse immediately. I recommended Formula 10’s Rosemary & Mint Balm and asked her to apply it 24 hours before shampooing and leave it on for a day. It was a brave step for her. The next day she called me:

Meya, surprisingly, my scalp felt so comfortable yesterday. It didn’t sting or burn at all.”

For the first time, she experienced an oil that didn’t hurt, and she could leave it on for 24 hours that something she had never imagined. We continue to monitor her weekly. Even more remarkable, after two months, fine new hair began to appear. I saw firsthand that her scalp healed healthily, with no signs of inflammation, redness, or irritation.

Could you introduce one product you are most attached to?

I am most attached to the Dark Batana Balm. It was the first product I ever used on my own hair, and it reminds me of my mother applying oil to my scalp after braiding when I was a child. The scent has a subtle earthy note, which is the natural aroma of Batana. Once you see the results, even the scent feels comforting.

What should retailers emphasize when introducing Formula 10?

The biggest strength of Formula 10 is that it delivers genuine Batana Oil, sourced 100% ethically from Honduras. Retailers can confidently present the brand as one that offers not only results but also sustainable and ethical beauty. It is also worth highlighting that the oil provides comfort even for customers with scalp conditions, which helps build additional trust.

What is the brand’s next goal?

Our goal is for Formula 10 to become a brand that inspires trust on its name alone. We are gradually expanding our line to support the health of Black hair, and the serum we are preparing is part of this effort. Our guiding principle remains hair growth, which for Black hair means more than just length. It reflects a healthy scalp and proper circulation, and we see this as the most fundamental direction for the brand.

Although I am a braider, I don’t always wear braids. I also enjoy the natural flow of my hair. The upcoming serum will appeal to those who want a healthy, everyday choice for their natural hair.

Finally, why is Formula 10 a strong partner brand from a retail perspective?

Formula 10 is a very practical brand. We actively promote it with reasonable pricing while staying focused on the product itself. When you see the product, you can immediately tell it was made with care. We never offer products we do not trust. The quality speaks for itself. In fact, our repurchase rate is very high. Customers who experience its effectiveness rarely switch to another brand. That, I believe, is the true strength of Formula 10.

Note! Formula 10 is currently running a limited-time promotion.

One set includes six products, four oils and two balms, with six of each product per set (approximately $176 value). The set will be offered free to the first 50 orders, regardless of quantity. During the promotion, the balms, which usually have higher production costs, are priced the same as the oils at $3.50 each. This limited offer gives retailers an opportunity to secure stock while attracting new customers.
